All-in 3-day residential
In 2019 I had the privilege of designing for a landscape architecture firm that took their whole firm - some 200 people - away together for a 3-day conference.
This is an impressive commitment to their whole team. Often it's just the leaders or 'talent' that get the leadership development. Here they invested in their whole team.
The theme of the 3 days was wellness - and working together.
Our team collaborated together with their in-house graphic designers to produce beautiful invitations and collateral. But it was our team, and my role on our team, that set the pace, design and interactions of the days and brought all the moving parts together into an experience.
We engaged some trusted partners to help deliver something special for this company: 3 actors, a graphic recorder, a videographer and a host of subject matter experts to deliver targeted breakout workshops.
This was a great success; feedback after the fact was glowing, and most importantly for me, vibe in the room was open and electric. The images above can't quite capture it.
Why include redacted images?
I think it's important to capture the realities of the experiences I design - which inevitably include sensitive information - while respecting the anonymity of those involved and safeguarding the business-relevant information shared during these experiences.
(I also like the way the visual representation reflects the vagaries of memory. There is a surreal quality to the images I find quite attractive...)
