Hi Corey & Juliet
Here's a proposal for how I can help Harchlo.

Juliet - I know we haven't met yet, and you might be wondering "who is this person and why should I be giving her any attention?" which is fair enough really.
A little about me

My name is Xisca Mairata. It's pronounced 'Chiska'.
I'm a visual and technology designer.
I run my own practice helping businesses look good, feel right and work well.

A proposal for Harchlo

We spoke about 2 projects for Harchlo.
Project 1: Brand Identity
Project 2: Website build
When we're talking about building a site, there are some ongoing 'infrustructure' costs that every site pays:
And to sum here, here's how I work and total investment.

Project 1: Brand Identity

Goal:
Give your business a custom designed logo and brand rules so that cusotmer can instantly recognise and trust Harchlo.
Options for Project 1
Project 1 Option 1: Standard
This option will give you a beautiful new logo and the assets you need to get it to work for you ASAP.

Outcomes:
  • Market research: I present you a quick look at what competitors are doing and what they look like.
  • 2 logo directions: I present you 2 ideas for logos and you tell me which you prefer. I then refine that direction.
  • Final set of assets: this includes colour and black and white logos in a couple of different file formats and sizes for various uses.
  • Brand Guide: this is a document that steps out the brand elements that make Harchlo visually unique. Included in the light version are: logos, colurs, fonts and do's-and-don'ts
Investment Project 1 Option 1: $1500 (once off)
Corey, when we chatted about these options this is the one we thought would work best.
I've included the other options here too for your info.
Project 1 Option 2: In-depth
This option will give you a new logo, a deeper understanding of your competitors and an in-depth brand guide that you can hand over to other creatives to carry on with work for Harchlo without needing to contact me in future.

Outcomes:
  • Strong market research: I put together and in-depth brand analysis of competitors into a presentation and take you through it.
  • Customer interviews: you put me in contact with 4 or 5 customers and I chat to them about their work with you. This gives me an idea of how others value your work and how they describe that value.
  • 3 logo directions: I present you 3 ideas for logos and you tell me which you prefer. I then refine that direction.
  • Final set of assets: this includes colour and black and white logos in an expanded range of different file formats and sizes for various uses.
  • Full Brand Guide: this is a document that steps out the brand elements that make Harchlo visually unique. Included in the full version are: logos, colurs, fonts and do's-and-don'ts, plus brand archetype, written tone of voice, image and composition examples. This is a stand alone document that other creative service providers can use to do work for you that maintains brand consistency.
Investment Project 1 Option 2: $3000 (once off)
Project 1 Option 3: Extras
This option extends the work of Option 1 OR Option 2 to get your social media accounts up and running or to expand your range of designed assets.

Outcomes:
  • Socials research: I put together a look and analysis of what your competitors are doing in the social space.
  • Socail strategy and plan: I put together a strategy and actionable plan for your social channels..
  • Base social assets: Here I deliver a few branded 'intro' posts to establish your social content that you then add to over time. The number and type depends on which social channels you'd like to go for. E.g. I'd suggest 5 x instagram posts, OR 2 x facebook posts, OR 2 x LinkedIn posts to begin with.
  • Extra print assets: this might include business cards, magnet for your ute, work shirts, signage or other bits and pieces that are Harchlo branded. NOTE: any printing or sourcing of other merch is priced at cost (I don't take a markup on that stuff).
Investment Project 1 Option 3: $? (let's talk about this more if you're interested)
Check out some other brands and sites I've built (and I can pass on their numbers if you'd like to have a chat about my work)

The Real Leadership Company
I had a lot of fun with Saul creating his business identity. Saul runs a leadership development company and I've worked with him for ~6 years creating all of his graphic assets, including logo, a huge suite of custom graphics, website, presentations, video (with Glenn Dixon Visuals) and more.

s.days
Lauren is a one-woman powerhouse in Tassie and she needed a brand and site to match her energy. s.days exploded out of the gate with a year's worth of high profile events in the works so Lauren needed all the usual brand identity work plus the beginnings of her social channels to that she could harness all the great attention she already had lined up.

Ok let's talk about your website

Project 2: Harchlo website

Goal:
Build you a home online where customers can find you, see the good work you do and get in contact with you easily.
Site Plan:
I suggest the Harchlo site is a no-fuss one-pager with the following sections:
  • Intro: what's Harchlo here to do (and where does the name come from)?
  • Services: what kind of work you do
  • Team: who's behind Harchlo
  • Testimonials: before-and-after pics and a sentence or two from your customers
  • Contact: an online form and phone number (and a map of where you've worked)
There are lots of different things a website can do for a business, I just don't think Harchlo needs them at this stage - but very happy to be corrected there.
Let's talk about these extras if you'd like them:
  • Payments and invoicing: manage the business financials through the site
  • Calendaring and bookings: not sure if this would make your lives easier or not... but it is possible.
  • Promos and pop-ups: again, possible, but probably not needed
  • Online chat: some people like to have the option open for their customers to chat with them online but this needs someone online to monitor it.
If I've missed anything you'd like on your site let's chat about it! I'm always keen to hear what you need - afterall, the site works for you, not the other way around.
Investment for Website build: $1500 (once off)

Website Infrustructure

Every website needs to pay running costs to stay online.
I've had a look at various providers and have found good deals that balance ease of use with price.
There are 3 costs to cover on a yearly basis to keep your site up.
Domain:
This is a yearly cost to rent "www.harchlo.com.au" or whichever URL we choose (more on the choice later).
Provider: Ventra IP.
Cost: ~$18 per year for 2 URLs
Site Hosting and Builder:
This is the software that let's us build a site and the service that connects it to the URL. Lots of different companies offer this - what we need here is a service that lets me build for you, then give you access to make changes if/when you'd like to.
Provider: SquareSpace
Cost: ~$192 per year
Email and Workspace:
This isn't 100% necessary but I do suggest you invest in this. This is the service that gives you email addresses that are the same as your domain: info@harchlo.com.au or corey@harchlo.com.au etc. It also gives you access to document creation and storage (I'm not sure you need this yet but let's chat about it).
Provider: Google
Cost: ~$100 per year
Infrustructure investment: ~$310 (per year)
I've found the best way to work this is to have my clients sign up for the services with their credit cards so that they can keep track of spend, but I'll manage the day-to-day running of the admin and let them know if they need to pay closer attention.
Alternatives?
Yes there are definitely alternatives to the above set up.
For example, you could go to SquareSpace for all 3 costs (domain, hosting and email) but the convenience of one provider would cost $450 per year.
This ties nicely into a convo about...

How I work

On call support
Some people prefer when I build their site and hand over the keys, never to be contacted again. I'm certianly OK with this, but I think the best way to keep your site and brand feeling fresh is if I stick around on-call.

That means I can take care of any updates or tweaks you need done on your site, and I hold the relationships with the service providers (so you don't have to add that to your mental load).

Practically this looks like you knowing you can call whenever you need something done, or if I don't hear from you I'll check in once a quarter.
I tally up my hours over the year and I charge you for what work I've done at the end of the year.
On average I'd say my cleints use about $1000 worth of maintenance in any given year - but again, only when they need it. And for Harchlo, if we're agreed on the above site plan, I wouldn't anticipate needing any extra support until 2026.
Maintenance: $1000 (per year charged only when used)

Investment

Brand: $1500
Website build: $1500
Website infrustructure (paid to providers): $310 per year
Maintenance: $1000 per year charged if/when used

Other costs incurred such as printing or merch sourcing charged at cost.
Total to XM in 2025: $3000

Thanks for trusting me with this project!
I'm looking forward to diving into it!
